Description

This set was months in the making and many trial sets before we came to the final design. The neck is Bright, responsive and brings incredible note definition. Made with alnicu 3 magnets and wound to the mid 7.5K area with 43 GA wire. The bridge is articulate and has enough heat (upper 8.3's) to TWANG with a mix of flat alnico magnets to bring in Bright notes without going brittle. Wound with 42 Ga wire and a steel base plate adds to the power. This set sounds focused. The true Tele brightness is there, but also a certain sweetness. These have a very even range and response from top to bottom.......the neck pickup has a clarity and punch that typical Tele neck pups lack. These will do country and rock-n-roll all day long. Overall, a fantastic set for the Tele enthusiast looking for a more transparent and useful neck pickup, with a bridge pickup that gives you that cut and bite you want out of your Telecaster. Artist Playing: Keith Urban, Andy Davis (The Band Perry), Ben Helson (Guitarist: Dierks Bently formerly with Maddie and Tae), Jason Jordan (Love and Theft), Sean Hurwitz (Smash Mouth),Tony Sims

5 of 5 The beginning of an addiction June 12, 2014

These are the first DA pups i ordered. I was referred by friend and fellow artist Gary Cook and was just blown away.

I needed something for country gigs that would be versatile enough for rock gigs. Stones kind of vibe and these are perfect.

They sound sweet but still twang not to the point of being locked into country though.

Beautiful and versatile!

5 of 5 Cheetahs rock January 17, 2013
Reviewer: Chris Wenkle from Auburn, WA United States
I just installed a set of Cheetahs in my 20 year old Korean made Fender Tele .  It was a pawn shop special which I got on the cheap.  It had some US made Duncan vintage pickups in it which sounded fine.  When I installed the Cheetahs, this Tele started to growl and the tone really opened up.  Tony Sims had it right---the bridge sounds like a Tele bridge should, and the neck sounds like a Tele neck always wanted to sound like.  Just a great upgrade and they blew the Duncan's away!  David really nailed it with these pickups.  Don't wait--get a set and bring your tone to life!  FOR REAL!

5 of 5 In the quest for perfect tone May 13, 2012

I came across the name D Allen over at My Les Paul forum user name (chriseskew24)

These pups are amazing very well balanced and articulate. The bridge takes to tone and volume roll off very well. It will twang like the best of them or with some tone/volume roll off you can get some good rock tones. Zep comes to mind when you dial it in.

The neck is amazing. Very snappy sounding, full, well rounded and just a great over all pickup. The middle position has some very straty sounds in there.

I was so happy with these pups after a week I just placed another order for voodoo 69'sfor my strat  and crazy cats for my LP.

Mr. Allen keep up the good work. I have run threw many pups and yours are definitely keepers!

Five stars and A plus on the cheetahs
