When you want the quack of a vintage set but need something more to add some punch go for the HOT 54/59'S D. ALLENs
This set took many months to perfect and dozens of prototypes. The goal was to bring a set together that would have the bright bell like tone of a 54 and the full round tone of a 59 with more punch to the bridge.
The set features a mix of alnico 3/5 magnet to help create the full rounded tone and retain the bright glassy tone. If you want a set that can span several styles this is the one for you. Hendrix, SRV and more.

FAT, LOUD, RESPONSIVE! August 13, 2011

I installed these pickups on a alder(nitro) & maple/maple strat just yesterday and I instantly fell in love.

These pickups are very responsive.  Hit hard and it will drive the amp, hit soft and it will be clean and quiet.  The volume and eq (no ice pick) balance between pickups is perfect.  They have a nice swirl to them when playing chords, almost like a phaser in the background.  If you have never liked your bridge pickup on your strat (like I used to), these pickups will change your mind! I love the bridge, its very twangy and bassy (almost Tele sounding).  
The in-between positions...BOY DO THEY QUACK!  
most beautiful quack I've ever heard.

Neck and Middle are what most define as "stratty" tone.  Very round and chimey.
Think "Pride and Joy" at Montreux.

Don't think twice, get them!  Very versatile set, toneful and also very quiet.  David is a pleasure to talk to and gives great customer service.
